The Niger State Judiciary was established on February 3, 1976 and began operating on April, 1976. It is currently located at Justice Jibrin N. Ndajiwo way, Kpakungu, Minna. The current Chief Judge of Niger State is Hon. Justice Halima I. Abdulmalik.

The Niger State High Court has 6 Divisions and 13 High court judges. It also comprises divisions of magistrate courts with 63 magistrates in the state.

The Hon Chief Judge who heads the state Judiciary does so with the help of principal offices who are headed by the chief Registrar. Other Principal officers include deputy chief Registrar(DCR) Admin, Litigation, Special Duties and Magistrate, Others are Director of Probate, ICT, Publicity, Estates, Planning, Research & Statistics(PRS), there are also Directors of pension, Financial services. (DFS) and Dep Director Admin
